After a house is foreclosed or abandoned, the plumbing and wiring are the first to disappear. Copper has a high scrap value because it is expensive to mine and refine. Like most metalurgical activities, copper making destroys its surrounding ecosystems.
In keeping with the action of Art I take these scraps and turn them into something more beautiful and less functional. While still wet they have plasticity, as they dry their structure becomes more visible and highly fragile.
